Build ASL3 Node from an inexpensive Pi Substitute

This is a suitable Raspberry Pi substitute with which to build your ASL3 ALLstar
node. It’s put out by Big Tree Tech, and they call it their Pi V1.2. It DOES NOT
use the Raspberry Pi operating system. It runs on Armbian Debian. I will provide the links
for the minimalist OS and the script with which to install ASL3 successfully. A big thanks to
Bob, W3ICQ who made this work. These run about $45 on Amazon, and is way less expensive

than the current crop of the Raspberry Pi line. These also make great web servers or just about anything
you can do on Linux.

OS Link to non-GUI (required for ASL3) for this board:

https://github.com/bigtreetech/CB1/releases/download/V3.1.0/CB1_Debian13_minimal_kernel7.0_20260430.img.xz

You need a high quality fast micro SD card, (128GB-500GB recommended, and a way to flash the image to the card.
There are a lot of imagers that work fine, but I found Raspberry Pi imager actually works for the job, or Win32 disk imager is suitable. I have included the imager
here
W3ICQ wrote a great installation manual, so I give you a link here:
/download/install_manual.pdf.
Go through the installation manual as I did and if you don’t skip any steps it should go smoothly.
